WHY DO ALL HIGHER ASPIRATION PURSUITS, ALWAYS PASS THROUGH THE WILDERNESS?

Despite different people having distinct earthly life preferences and priorities, all people have to commit themselves ‘to growing the necessary capacity for pursuing whatever their next higher’ earthly life aspirations.

A secondary school student’s next higher aspiration could be that of attaining the requisite higher exam pass rates, which qualify the student to proceed with one’s targeted University or Tertiary training. A factory floor worker’s next higher aspiration can be that of taking additional after work studies, which not only improve one’s work proficiencies, but also enhance the worker’s prospects ‘for obtaining the desired promotion’ at one’s current work place. A retailing business person could be aspiring for opening additional retail shops; a General Doctor could be planning to advance oneself as a Specialist Surgeon; whilst a Community Social Worker could be aspiring to become an established politician; etc, etc. All these distinctly higher aspirations cannot be pursued let alone accomplished, through the respective aspirant’s current capability levels. Accordingly, each aspirant has to develop the requisite higher skills, which grow the aspirant’s capacity and sustained commitment to pursue one’s higher aspiration.

Whilst the period or duration over which any person ‘is required to develop the lacking in one yet necessary’ higher skills or capacity, is ‘the wilderness training period that cannot be avoided’ in any higher aspiration pursuit. The type or level of each higher aspiration pursuit determines ‘not only how long’ the wilderness training period lasts, but also ‘how long the aspirant should take in growing’ both, the requisite ‘capacity and sustained unwavering commitment’ for relentlessly pursuing one’s targeted higher accomplishment. This ‘explains why God sought to establish biblical Israel’s both’ higher skills and sustained unwavering commitment, to pursuing the fulfilment ‘of its God purposed higher earthly ruling and God serving’ blessings or inheritances, as elaborated per Deuteronomy 8 verses 1-5;

“Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors. Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.”

Accordingly, any person who does not utilise the unavoidable wilderness ‘for one’s God purposed growing the disciplined higher capacity and sustained commitment’ for pursuing one’s higher aspirations, those higher aspirations will ultimately perish. Just as did those for all biblical Israel’s elders, except those for Joshua and Caleb.
