ARE YOU SERVING OTHERS FOR GOD, OR OBEYING GOD FOR SERVING YOURSELF?
Both Genesis 1 verses 26-28 and Revelation 5 verses 9-12 confirm that all people ‘were created for and enthroned to the kingdom and priesthood’ of ruling on earth in service of God. Jesus Christ described this earthly ruling and God serving kingdom and priesthood, as the servanthood of any person’s teaching other increasing people ‘to also access and extend’ to others, whatever their desired Word of God’s boundless power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing. This teaching others to also become ‘vessels of increasing and multiplying the Word of God’s boundless power and wisdom’ on earth, and regardless of whether or not they deserve to become such God blessed vessels. Is how Jesus Christ not only served others for God, but also commanded his disciples per Matthew 28 verses 18-20, to as well take up ‘the purposed for all people inheritance’ of ruling on earth in service of God. This ‘inheritance of God giving obedience’ that serves others for God, and not obeying God for serving oneself, was most outstandingly understood and demonstrated by Moses per Exodus 32 verses 7-14;
“Then the LORD said to Moses, go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.’ I have seen these people, the LORD said to Moses, and they are a stiff-necked people. Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation. But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God. LORD, he said, ‘why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians say, ‘It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth’? Turn from your fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your people. Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’ Then the LORD relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.”
Conversely, most of us could have readily justified our self-serving obedience, by ‘jumping for sacrificing God’s people against God’s wrath’ for whatever their committed sins. Instead of our seeking ‘to sacrifice ourselves for serving others’ from God’s wrath, just as the saviour Lord Jesus Christ did on the salvation cross, and as foreshadowed by Moses per both the above quote and per Exodus 32 verses 30-32;
“The next day Moses said to the people, ‘You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.’ So Moses went back to the LORD and said, ‘Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. But now, please forgive their sin-but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written.”
The writer accordingly prays for every reader of this article, to realize that ‘God is always ready to make a great nation’ out of every person, who obeys God for serving others for God, instead of obeying God for only serving oneself.
For helping yourself and other people to be made great nations by God, through serving others for God. This Your World Today invites you to share EITHER;
- Any instances of ‘your having obeyed God for serving oneself’ and not for serving others. And your short prayer ‘of repenting from that self-serving’ instead of serving others, in addition to your short prayer ‘of committing yourself to becoming a great nation’ by serving others for God. OR;
- Any instances ‘of your sacrificing yourself for serving others’ for God, and your short prayer of thanking God ‘for His enabling you to continuously grow in serving others’ for His glorification. Please end your short prayer by proclaiming that ‘God will consequently grow your influence’ on increasing people, and correspondinlgy make a great nation out of your earthly life.
